12th Annual Homeland Security Conference and Expo
The 12th Annual Homeland Security Conference and Expo of the Counter Terrorist will be held at the Floria Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, FL from the 7th to 8th of November 2017. This year’s 12th annual conference is being held at a time of renewal for US Counter Terrorism. With a promise to “wipe radical Islamic terrorism from the face of the earth” by the new administration, what will US counter terrorism have to do to fulfill that promise? “Taking the gloves off: Re-igniting US counter terrorism” will feature speakers that cast light on the subject of how the US can revitalize the war on Radical Islam. The debilitating effects of an anonymous and unnamed enemy for the past 8 years have led to gaping holes in the way the US effort is organized. Exciting presentations on everything from Cyber Security to banning groups associated with the Muslim Brotherhood will be covered by 8 excellent speakers over 2 days bringing global best practices. A group of carefully selected vendors will support the conference with an expo of technologies that can contribute to protecting the USA. 4th EAI International Conference on Safety and Security in Internet of Things
The event is endorsed by the European Alliance for Innovation, a leading community-based organization devoted to the advancement of innovation in the field of ICT. All accepted papers will be submitted for publication in Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world's largest scientific libraries. Proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services: EI, ISI Thomson's Scientific and Technical Proceedings at Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI's own EU Digital Library (EUDL). Accepted authors will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers to Special Issue in EAI Endorsed Transactions on Internet of Things. Topical Scope: The infrastructure of large cities is getting more and more vulnerable to natural and man-made disasters. Complex ICT infrastructures, critical dependencies, and unforeseen cascading effects can aggravate single hazard events to a threatening crisis of whole infrastructures. With the dense population and the critical dependency on infrastructures, such crises become a serious threat to the safety and security of citizens and industries. When the "unforeseen" happens, public security comes to its limits. Whether cyber, natural or industrial disasters - effective risk management must be a continuous process that recognizes new threats and opportunities, in particular in relation to new technological evolutions. Internet of Things (IoT) will have an enormous impact on our future infrastructures. In the context of safety and security, this is at the same time a challenge (How can we design IoT infrastructures secure and resilient?) and an opportunity (How can we use IoT for better safety and security?). In particular, in urban environments, the increasing deployments of IoT technologies and the rise of sensored and automated cities are opening up new avenues of threads and opportunities towards public safety and security. Although, there has been a number of deployment of diverse IoT systems, our understanding of these systems and their implications in the context of safety and security has just scratched the surface. The Fourth International Conference on Safety and Security with IoT (SaSeIoT 2017) aims to explore these dynamics within the scope of IoT in the context of Safety and Security. The conference solicits original and inspiring research contributions from technology experts, researchers, designers, practitioners in academia, authorities, and industry, and promises to offer a highly interactive forum to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices primarily in the following main application-oriented themes: Ensuring the resilience and security of IoT dependent infrastructures - Models, methods, and tools for testing IoT infrastructures - Design of resilient IoT infrastructures - Detection, prevention, response and mitigation of cyber threats to IoT - Trust and identity management in IoT - Security protocols in IoT - Risk analysis and management for IoT infrastructures - Threat modeling in IoT Using IoT for crisis and emergency management - IoT for threat and hazard detection - IoT for situation-awareness - IoT for crisis and emergency response - IoT for command & control - IoT for emergency forces Privacy in IoT Security and IoT Cloudification For more information or to register, please visit http://securityiot.eu/2017/show/home
