18th Annual International Family Justice Conference

4/24/2018 - 4/26/2018
Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel
Fort Worth, TX

The International Family Justice Center Conference will host a unique and powerful convening of professionals working in the fields of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse, and human trafficking.

In 2018, the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) will host two tracks (with six workshops per track) of the conference, one on Effective Handling of Non-Fatal Strangulation Cases and the other on Expanding Family Justice and Multi-Agency Centers.

The Office for Victims of Crime will sponsor a track on Working at the Intersections of Co-Occurring Trauma (Polyvictimization) focused on the impact of multiple types of trauma (polyvictimization) and the complex challenges of working with polyvictims.

In all workshops, we will share our lessons learned on how your community can move forward toward greater collaboration, co-located services approaches, and effective high risk teams - that can save lives and produce better short and long-term outcomes for survivors and their children.

Other conference workshop tracks will include: Trauma Informed Advocacy; Improving Law Enforcement Responses (DV/SA/CA); Best Practices for Civil and Criminal Justice Professionals; and Camp HOPE America: Breaking the Cycle.

CWLA 2018 National Conference
CWLA 2018 National Conference "Advancing Excellence In Practice and Policy: Building Resilience in Changing Times" Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, Washington, DC April 26 29, 2018 CWLA is accepting proposal submissions for presentations for our 2018 National Conference, Advancing Excellence in Practice & Policy: Building Resilience in Changing Times. This conference will highlight how organizations are advancing excellence in child and family services in changing times and working toward creating the next century of service. We seek proposals that feature evidence-informed/evidence-based programs and practices and their related policies and tools that lead to the successful implementation of the CWLA National Blueprint for Excellence in Child Welfare. For the 2018 National Conference, we want to build on learning and examine how organizations are responding to the challenges and opportunities presented by the priorities of the federal administration, and lay the groundwork for transitioning to CWLAs second century of service in 2020. We would like to see proposals that demonstrate the resiliency in organizations, families, and communities in response to changing times.
