28th International Police Executive Symposium (IPES)

Description

International Police Executive Symposium  (IPES)

Invitation to join the 28th Meeting in Vienna

The 28th Meeting of the International Police Executive Symposium, IPES, www.ipes.info), in UNODC in Vienna on August 19-23, 2018 on the theme of International Police Cooperation.

This IPES meeting at the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime in Vienna will be an only global meeting of its kind on policing with researchers and practitioners, hobnobbing for 5 nights and 6 days, in an intellectually stimulating environment, which we always endeavor to create.

The participants are encouraged to work on the post-conference publications (see below). These intense meetings are interspersed with a rich cultural program. Apart from fun and enjoyment, the cultural exposure is intended to help participants appreciate at first hand that policing is a product of culture.

An IPES Meeting is also more than a usual conference: We publish a post-conference book with fully edited and revised papers presented at the conference, We also a publish Special Issue of the affiliated journal, Police Practice and Research: An International Journal, PPR, with 7/8 most analytical papers. And, in this prolonged, retreat-like symposium, the participants enjoy a tremendous possibility of networking with participants who assemble in Vienna from across the globe as well as participating in other publications as follows (See Publications flyers attached):

·      Find participants, academics or practitioners, interested in collaborating on joint submissions to PPR and other IPES publication outlets.
·     Identify police leaders among the participants who may be interested in being interviewed for the IPES Book Series, Trends in Policing: Interviews with Police Leaders Across the Globe (a participant may find contacts for interviews of judges, prosecutors and defense lawyers, and prison Leaders for other interview-based books of IPES).
·     Participants may also find co-authors for an IPES Book Series, Advances in Police Theory and Practice.

We encourage you to register at the web site. www.ipes.info, paying $1795 (only $895 for spouse and $395 for child registration) which covers all your expenses like accommodations, meals in Vienna (except dinners on August 20, 21 and 23 when you enjoy free from conference obligations), sightseeing and all else including post-conference publications and a year's free subscription to Police Practice and Research: An International Journal, PPR. An early registration will be appreciated as we need to pay for your room, meals and so on in Vienna to reserve all this for you.
